Self-Terminating Activities vs Inertial Activities

Essentially, the idea is that some activities suck up way more time than you thought they would (e.g. watching entertainment, playing video games), while other activities take exactly the amount of time they should (a commute to work, or a shower). I find this idea of self-terminating vs inertial activities beneficial to think about, as I realized that with the exception of programming, it seems to me that everything I should be doing (but don’t, or don’t nearly enough) is a self-terminating activity, and everything I shouldn’t be doing as much of is an inertial activity.

My obsession

One of the big pushes towards me getting into programming properly has to do with a game concept that I’ve been calling ‘my obsession’ (or on my Gogs instance, just “obsession”). The core concept is imagine a 2D n-body physics version of Kerbal Space Program, but where there is more in-depth research and you design not only spacecraft, but the parts they are made from.

Why I Quit YouTube

First of all, let me be clear, when I say “I quit” I mean that I’m no longer trying to run my channel as a business. I’ll more often post what I want when I want instead of trying to maintain consistency and follow what my audience wants (sorry).
